PCSing is like giving birth: you forget the pain until you're in the midst of it again.
We are sitting in our pet-friendly hotel room in Wytheville, VA as I type. This past week has been such a flurry of PCS chaos and emotion, my mind and spirit were all a-jumble as we left Niceville last evening. I have since had a lot of time to reflect and think, having put roughly 450 miles behind us in the past 24 hours.
The pack-out began last Friday, with packers in my home Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. We spent the intervening weekend pulling all the original boxes out of the garage attic and getting everything ready for the packers. As more and more of our household goods disappeared into boxes, both Lilly and Tad the golden retriever grew more anxious...
